    Stephen has worked in marketing agencies for the last 20 years, after a five year spell in retail management for Allied Lyons. Over the last two decades, he has worked his way up from account executive to heading up a senior strategy team at one of the most reputable marketing agency networks in the UK, before setting up Abacus Marketing, a design and marketing agency specialising in the delivery of integrated marketing strategies.

    Stephen is responsible for all aspects of strategic output for Abacus Marketing, from briefing all the way through to presentation. This includes research of the client and their market place, leading internal brainstorms to generate key insights and developing strategically heavyweight pitch propositions. Stephen is also responsible for quality management and remains the main point of contact for all clients throughout the lifecycle of each project.

    Stephen enjoys cycling, running and swimming. He is a high handicap member of Henley Golf Club. As part of his love of different cultures and the natural world, he spent five years travelling through South America in his early 30s. He is an enthusiastic amateur actor and a member of the Richmond Shakespeare Society. He has a layman’s interest in cosmology, psychology and neurology

      Lee has successfully fulfilled many roles in his creative career over a period of two decades, which include artwork, image retouching, typography, graphic design and print management. He has worked on national and international projects across a wide variety of sectors and for small, medium and large agencies. Over the last ten years, Lee has developed an in-depth knowledge of web design techniques. Lee has also managed the entire creative department as head of studio for a top London marketing agency.

      Lee is responsible for managing and delivering the creative output process for all Abacus Marketing clients, including the design and artwork of marketing, communications and advertising materials used in both online and offline media. He is highly skilled in all relevant design software including Quark Xpress, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Dreamweaver. He was also the first person in the UK to gain status as a Squarespace Specialist.

      Lee plays district football and has recently taken up table tennis. He is a happily married family man and enjoys restoring old bangers and supporting Chelsea in his spare time.

        Graham has worked in through-the-line marketing agencies for the last 25 years, and has been Creative Director at two of London’s top five marketing, communications and advertising agencies. He has delivered award winning integrated campaigns for many blue chip clients at both a national and international level. His experience crosses many sectors including automotive, technology, finance, telecoms, FMCG, white goods and retail. He has created campaigns across all media formats, including; corporate branding, advertising (outdoor, press, TV, radio), direct marketing, sales promotion, digital marketing and event marketing.

        Graham is responsible for overseeing the creation of all Abacus Marketing visual concepts – and for directing the delivery of the preferred concept into its various media formats. Graham’s skill is in his constant ability to create high quality and imaginative design work that meets the needs of the marketing strategy.

        Outside of the office, Graham is a proud family man, with a passion for interior design, home improvements and property development.

        Natalie has worked in PR and communications for the past 17 years. Starting as a graduate trainee at the world’s most famous retail emporium, Harrods in Knightsbridge, she has progressed her career within some of the world’s best known premium automotive marques including Porsche, MINI and, most recently, BMW, where she worked for 11 years.

        Natalie’s varied experience includes internal and external communications, press events, product launches, copywriting, media relations and PR strategy.
        Natalie is responsible for creating exciting and business relevant copy for our clients. Her ability to quickly understand a brand and to get her head around the brief, allow her to write compelling copy that consistently hits the nail on the head.
        Natalie is a keen skier and enjoys keeping fit.  As an English literature and language graduate, she is naturally an avid reader. She loves eating out, fine wine and travelling. Aside from that, sports cars still remain a passion!

        Ben started his career working in sales and marketing, before running his own franchise at the age of 18 and starting his first e-commerce business at aged 19. It was here that he honed his social media marketing knowhow and has since gone on to work with many high-profile clients around the globe within a variety of industries.

        Ben is responsible for our client’s social media marketing campaigns, from strategy through to implementation and campaign analysis. This includes using data and in-depth research to form social media marketing campaigns, and the integration of these campaigns into the client’s wider marketing plans.

         Ben enjoys all things sport, from football to climbing and canoeing in the Lake District. He tweets and blogs about social media and online marketing and regularly speaks at corporate conferences on the subject. Most recently, he held social media marketing master classes at London’s Great British Business Show.

        Glyn has over 20 years’ experience in promotional marketing, which he has gained working for some of London’s leading marketing agencies. He worked client-side prior to this, engaging in retail FMCG market research, brand positioning and channel marketing. He has worked across many industry sectors and for a wide variety of clients including BP, Esso, News International, Anheuser-Busch and Ford.

        Glyn is responsible for creating strategic promotional marketing solutions for our clients. These strategies are built on a thorough understanding of customer needs and a focus on product positioning to create research-based insights that guide both the campaign formula and the creative approach. A review of the competitor marketplace also guides his approach. Glyn is specifically focused on sales promotion, trade marketing, motivation marketing, affiliate marketing and customer loyalty.

        Outside of the office, Glyn is a keen lover of fine food, horse racing and greyhound racing, and enjoys travelling with his wife to sandy beaches and sunnier climes at any time of the year, but especially during the dark winter months.

        Sophie is a talented editor and copywriter with 15 years’ experience in journalism and publishing. She has worked across multiple industry sectors for small, medium  and large clients including Christian Dior, BUPA, Page & Moy, Visit Britain, RAC and the NHS. Her areas of experience include food and drink, fashion, travel, luxury goods, health and fitness and parenting.

        Sophie is responsible for delivering copywriting output for our clients. In the digital world, this includes website content including online brochures and requires an ability to rapidly learn the technical conversation for each client’s industry sector by immersing herself in each project – whilst at the same time being true to the brand values and establishing a credible and maintainable tone of voice. She also delivers copy for all offline media including brochures, annual reports and other marketing and sales literature, as well as creating engaging stories for direct marketing and direct advertising campaigns.

        Sophie is a health freak and food lover, and enjoys visiting art galleries, fashion shows and foreign travel to distant lands.

        Alex has enjoyed a fifteen year career within integrated marketing agencies, where he has worked on a variety of blue chip client accounts across multiple industry sectors including Budweiser, Vodafone, Allied Domecq and O2. Alex has specifically honed his digital marketing skills over the last five years, after joining a specialist digital marketing agency and delivering campaigns encompassing all areas of digital marketing strategy including e-commerce, affiliate marketing, social media marketing, strategic partnerships, digital PR, viral marketing and search engine marketing.

        Alex is responsible for the creation of integrated digital marketing strategies for our clients. The process involves market research, competitor analysis, business planning and marketing consultancy. He is also our LinkedIn specialist. Alex’s key strength is his ability to think outside of the box to create relevant campaign strategies using key insights that focus on delivering a positive return on investment against core objectives.

        Outside of the office, Alex enjoys spending time with his family and hikes around the beautiful countryside around the south west of England.

        Surraya Sumner is a trained quantitative and qualitative research analyst with over twelve years’ experience in the fields of market research, analysis and consultancy. She has managed projects for a number of blue chip clients including Heinz, Duracell, Mars and Vodafone. 

        Surraya designs and delivers comprehensive research projects for our clients, which include desktop research, qualitative investigations and quantitative questionnaires – such as market data analysis, focus groups, online panels, mystery shopping, staff consultations, competitor intelligence, web usability and so on. She analyses all data, identifies key insights and proposes specific recommendations. 

        Surraya is a keen skier and scuba diver and has travelled extensively to pursue her hobbies. Her most memorable moment of scuba diving was sitting on the ocean floor with sharks swimming past while her instructor asked her to spell her name backwards! She is half Italian and speaks both Italian and French fluently, having spent a number of years living in both countries.

          Anna Baxter is a PR and social media consultant with extensive experience in delivering strategic campaigns for clients across a wide range of sectors and at a regional, national and international level. Client experience includes Komatsu UK, Rio Tinto, Taylor Wimpey, Barratt Homes, Giles Insurance Brokers and Go Ahead Group.

          Anna is responsible for delivering all client social media campaigns for Abacus Marketing which currently include projects involving Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Google+ and Flickr. Her strengths lie in the ability to identify and exploit opportunities to gain positive exposure for her clients using both traditional and digital channels, such as media press coverage and search engine friendly blogging.

          As a mum of a two-year-old, free time is somewhat scarce, but Anna particularly enjoys getting stuck into a new cookery book and developing her passion for international cuisine. She also likes to spend weekends visiting her family in Northumberland, spending as much time as possible enjoying the beautiful coastline and its many breath-taking beaches.

          David has been working as a digital advertising consultant for the last ten years, managing specialist campaigns for blue chip companies, medium-sized organisations and SME businesses in the UK. He has worked across many different industry sectors including travel, e-commerce, retail, technology and finance. Client budgets vary from £5,000 to £50,000 per month and his role is to maximise the efficiency of the campaigns in delivering key calls to action (CTA) across all campaigns including search engine advertising (pay per click) with Google, Yahoo, Bing etc. as well as remarketing, network advertising and social media.

          David is responsible for setting up and running all Abacus Marketing client PPC campaigns, to ensure they run smoothly across all technology platforms including mobile phones and tablets. Rod is fully Google AdWords qualified and also delivers paid advertising campaigns across the core social media networks (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn) as well as display network and remarketing activities.

          When not working hard at his computer, David enjoys watching rugby, reading factual biographies and playing chess. He is married with two young kids who are the apple of his eye. He loves travel and is a big fan of skiing, sailing and surfing.

        • MATT DAVIES

          Matt Davies is an online marketing expert specialising in digital campaigns focused on search engine optimisation (SEO). He has worked with business owners in the UK, USA, Australia and a number of European countries. On a consultancy level, Matt has worked with a number of multi-national companies, integrating with their in-house marketing teams to create and deliver campaign. Matt heads up the SEO function at Abacus Marketing – helping companies to generate “natural” traffic to their websites. He is responsible for researching the marketplace, establishing important keywords and phrases, and managing on-going campaign execution. Because of the fluid nature of SEO tactics, Matt is responsible for periodical analysis to establish redirection as and when required.

          Away from work, Matt enjoys playing a number of sports including football, cricket and tennis. He also has a keen eye for photography and is currently working on a project which involves visiting 26 different countries to create a “moment in time” visual A-Z diary of the world – just for the fun of it.
